Chi中 Eng英 Chinese Dishes - Hairy Melon and Shrimp in Chu Hou Sauce
Ingredient - Hairy melon 6 taels
- Shrimp 2 taels
- Green bean vermicelli 2 taels
- Shitake mushroom 1 tael
- Shredded carrot 1 tael
- Shredded ginger a few
- Crushed garlic a few
- Minced ginger a few

Seasoning- Oyster sauce 1 tsp
- Dark soy 1/2 tsp
- Chicken powder 1/4 tsp
- Sugar 1/4 tsp
- Sesame 1/4 tsp
- Salt a pinch
Sauce- Stock 6 taels
- Chu Hou sauce 1 tsp
Method- Soak green bean vermicelli and drain. Remove stalk of shitake mushroom. Soak and cut in strips.
- Deep fry shrimp and hairy melon in boiling oil for just a while. Drain.
- Saute carrot, shitake mushroom, shredded ginger, minced ginger and crushed garlic. Add stock and cook for a while. Add shrimp, hairy melon, chu hou sauce and seasonings. Bring to a boil again. Then, stir in green bean vermicelli.
